Port Vale goalkeeper Sam Johnson wants to repay the faith the club has shown in him after he signed a new one-year contract.
The 22-year-old put pen to paper on his new deal on Tuesday morning and is already looking forward to getting back for pre-season.
He made eight appearances for Vale last term with the majority of those occurring at the start of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player, the shot-stopper said he now hopes to show his thanks to the club with his performances on the pitch.
He commented: “I’m looking forward to getting my head down in pre-season now and working hard to get a first team place if possible.”
He added: “I’ve been here for quite a long time now, since I was about 14. They’ve shown a lot of faith in me through the years and I think it’s about time I started repaying them.”
