Port Vale midfielder Michael O’Connor thinks the signing of Anthony Grant will help him score more goals next season.
The 27-year-old, who has now put pen to paper on his new contract with the club, has been impressed with his new teammate in past meetings.
O’Connor netted seven times last season, including a memorable long-range strike against Cardiff City in the Capital One Cup.
But, speaking exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD, the club’s 2014/15 player of the year said the addition of Grant should give him freedom to get forward even more regularly.
“It’s a great signing,” he said. “You know what you get with Granty. He’ll go in there, he’s a workhorse, he’s good on the ball and he’s a defensive-minded midfielder.
“It should help me try and get more goals this year so it’s good to have him in the squad.”
