Michael Brown says Port Vale want to ensure the club’s fans have local bragging rights after this weekend’s derby against Crewe Alexandra.

 

The Valiants welcome Steve Davis’ men to Vale Park on Saturday, kick-off 3pm, hoping to reverse the loss they suffered at Gresty Road earlier this season.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player in the build-up to the fixture, the veteran midfielder told of Vale’s determination to beat the Railwaymen for the club’s supporters.

 

“The result first and foremost [is the most important thing]. You have got to make sure you have got the three points for when the fans go into work, it’s bragging rights,” he said.

 

“We’ve got to keep a cool head and we were disappointed in the away game so we’ve got to put that right and with a chance to move up the table.

 

“It will be a difficult game for sure, derby games are, but we’re really looking forward to it.”
