Ryan Inniss Ecstatic With Debut Victory

New Defender Delighted To Be Given Chance

New signing Ryan Inniss described his mood as ‘ecstatic’ after making his debut during Port Vale's win at Walsall on Saturday.

The 19-year-old joined the Valiants on a month loan deal from Premier League side Crystal Palace a few days ago and helped Vale claim all three points at Banks's Stadium as a Tom Pope goal saw them run out eventual 1-0 winners.

And speaking to port-vale.co.uk, Inniss said his debut could not have gone better. He said: “What more do you want than a clean sheet and three points in your first game?

“It was all about being resolute but other than few shots we weren’t really under the cosh. They weren’t putting many balls into the box so we kept our shape well and showed really good discipline.”

Inniss also thanked manager Rob Page for having faith in him to start the game, adding he hoped he could offer a lot to the side during his time here.

“I want to thank the gaffer for trusting me because I’ve been out on loan a few times and got a few games here and there and I’m here to really help the team and get a good run of games," he added.

“We’ve trained hard the last two days and I feel settled already. I’m ready to get my head down now, work hard and build on this performance.”
