Port Vale boss Rob Page described his side’s display against Bury as the ‘complete performance’.
The Valiants clinched their first win of the festive period thanks to super-sub Sam Kelly’s tremendous second half strike.
A clean sheet added to the manager’s delight following full time as he discussed the change in style his players have undertaken over Christmas.
He told Valiant PlayerHD: “I think it’s been coming, it’s been a frustrating Christmas period for us.
“I think our performance at Walsall, we saw signs of it there, our performance against Coventry for 80 minutes before they get the deflected goal.
“That was the complete performance today. We had to make a couple of changes, one forced with Granty’s suspension and Browny coming in and one at half time with Ajay getting injured.
“But credit to the players, they went out, they played as we wanted them to play. We’ve changed the way we play slightly from just before Christmas and it seems to be working.”
