Port Vale were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup by Exeter City on Sunday. Here we take a look at how the other ties up and down the country went.
The lowest-ranked side in the competition, Northwich Victoria, came within ten minutes of the biggest shock of the round.
They were 2-0 up at Northampton Town heading into the closing stages of the match when three goals in four minutes from the hosts ensured they went through instead.
League Two Wycombe Wanderers beat League One Millwall at The Den thanks to a last-gasp Michael Harriman strike.
Gareth Ainsworth’s men had gone in front in the second half courtesy of Paul Hayes but the hosts responded through Ben Thompson.
Then Harriman popped up in the dying seconds to send Wycombe through and the Lions out.
Cambridge United looked on-course to knock out Doncaster Rovers after taking a first half lead against Darren Ferguson’s side.
But Conor Grant scored two of three Donny goals in the second half to ensure they avoided a second round shock.
Colchester United came from behind on two occasions to knock out National League side Altrincham.
Jake Moult and Michael Rankine both scored to put the away side in front at the Weston Homes Community Stadium but the U’s responded twice through Callum Harriott and Tom Lapslie.
Harriott then grabbed a stoppage time winner to send Lee Sinnott’s side out of the cup.
