Port Vale can confirm the signing of former Newcastle United striker JJ Hooper on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old put pen to paper on his contract at Vale Park on Monday afternoon after taking part in the morning’s training session with his new teammates.
Having come through the ranks at St James’ Park, Hooper is a powerful centre forward with a prolific strike-rate.
He finished last season as Havant & Waterlooville’s top scorer with 20 goals in just 29 appearances.
Manager Rob Page said: “We’re delighted to have added JJ to our squad. He’s a very talented player with a keen eye for goal.
“He was prolific last season for Havant & Waterlooville and we’re hoping he can build on that and make strides with Port Vale in League One now.”
