Valiants Boss Looks Ahead To Clash With The Iron
Manager Rob Page says Port Vale can take confidence from previous away wins this season into Tuesday night’s clash with Scunthorpe United.
The 40-year-old will lead his side out at Glanford Park on the back of an impressive performance against MK Dons on Saturday.
Vale have beaten the likes of Walsall, Notts County and Coventry City away from home so far this term, keeping clean sheets in two of those victories.
Speaking to Valiant Player, Page reckons his players should use those results as examples when they face the Iron.
“We go to Notts County, get the win and a clean sheet, go to Walsall, get the win and the clean sheet, go to Coventry and get the win there,” he said.
“So against tough opposition really, we’ve proven over the weeks and months that we can get results away from home so we’ve got the confidence of that.
“Confidence in the changing room is back now after the last two performances and against an excellent MK Dons team, from the very first minute showed our intent.
“From an intensity point of view and closing down and how we play, that was going to be our approach to the game.”
