Rob Page Expects Barnsley Repeat Against Yeovil Town

Vale Boss Previews Yeovil Game

Port Vale interim manager Rob Page wants a repeat performance of last month’s win over Barnsley when his side host Yeovil Town this weekend.

The Valiants return to Vale Park for the first time since that 2-1 victory against the Tykes when they face Gary Johnson’s Glovers on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Page’s side have been on the road for their last three fixtures - facing Bradford City, Fleetwood Town and Preston North End respectively.

Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player, the Welshman admitted it will be nice to have a game in front of the Vale fans and explained the expectations he has of his players.

“We’ve spoke as a group, the players and the staff, and what we’ve said is that individually that’s a level of performance [against Barnsley] we’ve set a benchmark to,” he said.

“Anything short of that individually and collectively isn’t acceptable, none of us should except anything less standard.”

“Week in, week out, home or away, you go out and you give everything for the jersey and if you do that you stand a good chance of winning games of football.”
