A fan's view of things Port Vale
It’s not been the best few days in Camp Vale has it? First our goalkeeper gets carried off and is out for the season, we lose the next game 5-0, have a man sent off and a minority of fans hurl abuse at the players and manager, then our reserve ‘keeper gets struck down with illness and it turns out we can’t sign a replacement because of a transfer embargo.
It doesn’t mean Armageddon, and there’s no reason to think that things won’t soon be rosy again, that’s football. I believe an outstanding debt will soon be settled to lift the embargo, which is not half as dramatic as it first sounds.
The game at Bristol City was a strange one, it wasn’t the worst performance of the season even though it was the worst result. For the first 40 minutes I thought we were the better side, but it seemed as though we went off for half time five minutes early and three goals in five minutes ended the game.
Time to recover on Saturday when we go to bottom club Stevenage with the chance of ending the week with a unique feather in our caps. Should we win then we would be the only team in all four divisions to have beaten all of the other 91 teams in league games. That should give us a good news story!
