Defender says Vale will be looking to pick up three points
Vale defender Chris Robertson says Val have to put Tuesday’s defeat at Ashton Gate behind them and concentrate on the next game
Vale make the trip down to Stevenage at the weekend knowing that the ‘Boro’ are scrapping for their League One lives and a win against Vale could lift Graham Westley’s side out of the bottom four.
But Vale will go into the game well-prepared, and the defender says they will forget all about the Bristol City game and go looking for the three points.
The former Preston man said: “We should move on from that, close the door and leave it there and start again on Saturday.
“As soon as you lose a game you want to get back on the pitch straight away and put things right. We have talked about things and we know what we need to do better – it was three points lost, but we will try to get the three points on Saturday.
“In football you have good spells, but you also have bad spells and it is about how quickly you can recover from those times.
“I keep going back to the start of the season when people were saying we were going to get relegated, but we have been in the top half of the table all season and people started to talk about play-offs.
“We have come a long way this season and it about us trying to maintain that and put results together to try and keep us in that top half of the table.
“We are expecting a tough game on Saturday, a battle, they are fighting for the points but then again we are fighting for the points so it is no different in that respect.
“It is going to be a tough game – they don’t want to get relegated so I am sure they will be throwing a lot of things at us, but we have got to be up for the challenge, all work for ourselves and come together as a team.”
