After signing two players already this week in defender Ryan McGivern and winger Mark Marshall and more expected to follow, Manager Micky Adams is looking to keep the squad in good spirits and bring in players that have fire to succeed and improve themselves and the team.
He also believes that the club is an attractive proposition for players but they need to be the right type.
“We have to pick the right type of player. we have a good squad here, with a great team spirit. It’s imperative we don’t spoil that by bringing in the wrong type.”
Although it will be a tough test, Adams believes with the players he has and the right additions, the club can prove some people wrong and sneak into the play-offs.
“We want players here that want to improve, which will spur us on to do better than last season, possibly sneaking into the play-offs.”
Although many of the bookies have written the team off for this season Adams believes it not wholly a bad thing.
“In many respects it’s good as it takes the pressure off. They wrote us off last year and look how that panned out.”
“We have to draw a bit of strength from that, stick together, work hard as a team and we’ll prove a few doubters wrong.”
