Happy to be in the side, wherever he is playing!
Daniel Jones is happy to be back playing after another injury set-back and says hopefully that is all behind him now.
Has was also full of praise for the back four following the game against Shrewsbury, the second in a row in which Vale had kept a clean sheet.
He said: “They kept the ball well and when you play with wing backs it is very hard and I didn’t get as much space as I did the other night because of it, but that is something I have got to work on.
“I enjoy playing there, I started off at Wolves playing there and I don’t mind playing there at all as long as I am doing a job for the team and I am enjoying it.
“I think we looked solid. Joe and Jack and the rest of the back four did brilliant. They were challenging first balls and picking up second balls and I don’t think Shrewsbury had hardly anything at our goal.
“Joe and Jack are both good players and they don’t stand off people, they get tight, which is what you want.
“You don’t want to stand off people in this league, there are some good players who can punish you if you give them half a yard.
“I have really enjoyed playing where I have in the last two games. Running is a big asset for me and so I don’t mind.
“When I play at full back my first thought is to go forward anyway, which it shouldn’t be as a full back, so it suits me down to the ground playing there.
“The vast majority of people in football say that is where I should be playing anyway, but I am not fussed as long as I am in the team.
“I felt a bit heavy out there which is understandable given my absence, but I am just enjoying playing with a smile on my face and getting more game time under my belt.
“It was very annoying when I was out injured. I just want to play and do well for the team and I was getting very frustrated.
“But that seems to be all behind me now and I am looking forward and thinking positive and I have got a smile back on my face.”
