Disappointing performance not too bad in context
Although everybody was disappointed with the performance against Shrewsbury Town at the weekend it has to be all about adding another point onto the board.
The staff and players alike were every bit as disappointed as the fans with the overall performance, but the fact is it was another point away from home and another clean sheet.
Rob Page said: “We have got four points out of two games, two clean sheets but we were all frustrated on Saturday, of course we were.
“Shrewsbury are fighting to stay in this league and they changed their formation, they changed their style of play, so that was a compliment to us as soon as we saw their team sheet and how they set up with the three centre backs and two wing backs.
and it is down to us to break them down. “It frustrated us a little bit because teams that camp on their own box and dig a trench and stick five defenders there
“If we are going to be picky and look at ourselves then perhaps we could have done better in the final third, with our final ball and our decision to get a shot off or a cross maybe let us down a bit.
“We kept a clean sheet, we didn’t concede, we got a point and we move on to the next game and that is the positive you take from it.
“They did their homework and sometimes it is harder to play against teams like that. They need wins really, but they set up quite defensive and they were hard to beat.”
