Rotherham United and Mansfield Town played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in another goal-filled week in the Final Third Development League.

Final Third Development League - East Division

Burton Albion and Hull City kicked-off the Final Third Development League action on Monday, when the Brewers ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at St George's Park.

On-loan Leicester City striker Jacob Blyth opened the scoring in the first half before fellow front man Dominic Knowles notched a brace after the break to seal Burton's second win of the season.

There was no contest for the game of the week in the Final Third Development League as Mansfield Town and Rotherham United played out a thrilling 4-4 draw, which included late drama from both teams.

The Millers led 2-1 at the break thanks to an Alex Revell double but the Stags hit back and were 3-2 up just after the hour mark after goals from Ollie Palmer and Rakish Bingham.

Conor Newton hauled Rotherham level with 15 minutes to play but Matt Rhead looked to have sealed the points for the hosts by converting an 88th-minute penalty. It wasn't to be, though, as Jordan Bowery scored from close range to ensure the spoils were shared.

Eight goals were also scored in a match on Wednesday, with Scunthorpe United running riot in the North East against Hartlepool United to triumph 8-0 and move to the summit of the East Division. The dominant victory was secured with goals from Jennison Myrie-Williams (3), Victor Zapata-Caicedo (2), Kyle Wootton (2) and Hakeeb Adelakun.

The three points saw the Iron move on to 10 points, one ahead of second-placed Doncaster Rovers, who succumbed to a narrow 1-0 loss to Gateshead, with Dean Briggs scoring the only goal of the game.

Final Third Development League - West Division

Port Vale saw off Morecambe 4-0 to maintain their lead at the top of the West Division.

Byron Moore, Ryan Lloyd, Jonathon Kapend and Achille Campion found the net for the Valiants as they retained their place at the summit after Wigan had briefly moved above them after winning 1-0 against Walsall on Tuesday.

Andy Delort was the man on target for the Latics; his third goal in two games came on the stroke of half-time when he ran across the inside edge of the area and finished smartly across the goalkeeper with his left foot.

Final Third Development League - South Division

In the South Division, leaders Luton Town dropped points for only the second time this season when they drew 1-1 with AFC Wimbledon.

The visiting Dons went ahead through a first-half goal from George Oakley but the undefeated table-toppers grabbed their equaliser courtesy of Jim Stevenson, who scored a superb dipping volley from 30 yards.

Elsewhere, Cambridge United thumped Peterborough United 4-1 to rise up to second in the table.

Striker Adam Cunnington was the star of the show for the U's with two goals, while Tom Naylor and Sam Whittall also found the net. Kyle Vassell scored in the second half for the Posh but it was no more than a consolation as Cambridge moved on to nine points and above Bournemouth in the standings.

Final Third Development League Cup - Northern Group A

Shrewsbury Town overcame Stoke City 2-0 in the only Final Third Development League Cup game this week.

Regular first-teamers Aaron Wildig and Scott Vernon were on target for the Shrews in the opening 45 minutes to secure a comfortable victory against the Potters at Clayton Wood Training Ground.
