Defender Speaks To Valiant Player Ahead Of Trip To Crawley

  • Centre back pleased with how things are going
  • Says players are looking forward to game against Crawley Town
  • Robertson knows he will have to work hard to keep place

Port Vale defender Chris Robertson is enjoying his run in the starting line-up but knows he will have to work hard to keep his place.

The 28-year-old spoke to Valiant Player on Thursday afternoon ahead of this weekend’s game against Crawley Town at Broadfield Stadium.

He did not start the season as first choice but Robertson has worked his way into manager Rob Page’s plans with some stellar performances at the heart of defence.

The former Torquay United and Preston North End man now knows it is up to him to continue his impressive form.

“I’m enjoying it, being out of the team makes you think about things and brings back your focus and what you want to do,” he said.

“I want to defend and I want to be playing for Port Vale so hopefully that continues but it’s up to my performance level, I’ve got to keep it up there so I’ve just got to keep working hard."
