Notts County desperate to make their home form count

Vale defender Daniel Jones knows Vale have a difficult game on their hands at Meadow Lane at the weekend against side who are giving everything in the fight against the drop.

Notts County have won three of their last four matches and will be going into Saturday’s match with a grit and determination to continue the good work.

Magpies boss Shaun Derry knows the importance of winning their home games and doing so could mean the difference between playing in League One or League Two next season.

Jones says: “It is going to be a tough game, they are fighting against relegation and we just want to keep putting points on the board.

“It is going to be a good game but if we defend like we did on Saturday then I am sure we can go there encouraged by what we have been doing.

“We are doing well at the minute and it is nice that we are enjoying it – we are unbeaten in our last three – but we have just got to keep doing what we have been doing and hopefully things will pay off.

“We just want to take every game as it comes, especially over Easter when games come thick and fast and things happen in the league which you look at and think, wow, where have they come from, but we are doing nicely at the minute and it’s nice that we are.

“We are not talking about play-offs. Every Saturday we just go out there and give it all we have got and if it is good enough at the end of the day it is good enough.

“Going back to the game at Bristol, we don’t mean to play like that, we don’t mean to go out there and lose, we go out there and give it our all and on Saturday we got our rewards.”
