A supporter's view of things Port Vale
There was a little bit of the sorcerers apprentice when the Vale Division one bandwagon rolled up on Merseyside last Saturday.Rob Page, a man looking to make an instant impression in albeit a temporary sortie in the managerial hot seat would have wanted ‘instant impact’ as a post match headline rather than ‘Page turner’ or ‘Vale turn a new Page.’ Cliched prose that his surname will attract of course. A respected coach but managerial virgin. He needn't have worried as his charges for the day gave him a wonderful start to his fledgling managerial career. Vale appeared to play with a mix of Micky Adams spirit and maybe a bit of Page style with smiles. Micky would currently find it painful to shoot from the hip but he will be grateful that the sorcerers apprentice kept the wand waving over Vale's developing season. Rob loved every minute of it and I'm sure that the result gave a recuperating ally a pain killer better than any prescribed drug from the pharmacy. What of Page now? Turn to the next one of course.
