Vale manager Micky Adams was today presented with the Football Writers’ Association Northern Managers 2013 award after guiding Port Vale to promotion last season.

Reserve team coach Jimmy Bell collected the award on Micky Adams’ behalf and today Chairman Norman Smurthwaite presented the award to Adams at Vale Park.

Adams said: “It’s great to be recognised for this award and I am honoured to receive it.

“I’d also like to thank Jimmy Bell for collecting the award for me on the night.”
