GRIFF READY TO GO

GRIFF READY TO GO

Midfielder looking forward to the challenge

Midfielder Anthony Griffith, who re-joined Vale on loan for the remainder of the season yesterday, is hoping to get the nod against Bradford City tonight, but would be quite happy to settle for a place on the bench.

In the meantime he is just glad to be back at Vale Park with the opportunity to play first team football and perhaps win promotion with the Vale.

The 26-year-old said: “It’s a good chance for me to get some football as I haven’t been playing recently. The lads haven’t done so well in the last week or so, but apart from that they have been flying.

“I have been watching out for every result while I have been away and they have done really well, so it is a matter of getting back on track now and getting over the finishing line.

“I haven’t been away all that long and I slotted back in quite easily in training yesterday. Not much has changed really, I am just happy to join a happy Port Vale.

“I was here when things were all topsy tervy – it was this time last year when we didn’t get paid and they are bad memories, but now I aim to get some good memories to go with those from my four and a half years here.

“We have a fantastic manager who has done it over and over again and we have got a fantastic squad, so I don’t see any reason why we can’t get back on track, steady the ship and achieve what we are aiming for.

“People start to get twitchy about things, but there is o real crisis, we could go top of the league tonight, so there is no real worry.

“I have kept myself fit and it would be nice to start against Bradford, but we have a fantastic squad so I am quite prepared to sit it out and wait my turn if I have to.”
