Vale to host Walsall

Assistant manager Mark Grew believes the home tie with Walsall is the best draw the Valiants could of wished for.

Vale will host fellow League One side Walsall during the week commencing August 5 and Grew is confident Vale can get the result they want.

Grew said: “It’s a great draw, we are at home and it is a bit of a local derby so we couldn’t have asked for a better draw really.

“It is definitely a winnable tie, we knocked them out of the Johnstone Paint Trophy last season on penalties so hopefully we can do something similar this time.

“There will be lots of different faces compared to the game last year so it wont be the same game,” said Grew.

With one fixture confirmed for the 2013-2014 campaign 46 are set to follow on Wednesday as the League One fixtures are announced at 9am. Be sure to check the official website at 9am to find out who Vale will be playing on August 3.
