Burge says we can expect teams to be fighting right up to the end of the season
Ryan Burge says Vale will be going all out for the three points on Saturday afternoon, when Morecambe are the visitors to Vale Park.
With fifteen games remaining, Vale are looking to put as many points up on the board as early as possible and the hopefully things will look after themselves.
The Vale midfielder said: “We want the three points on Saturday and we will be going all out to get them.
“We will keep playing our football like we have so far this season and if we play like we can then I don’t see why it won’t work again.
Vale are expecting the remaining matches to be quite tough as teams step things up with one eye on their own league positions.
Quite often at this stage of the season we see a large number of surprise results as teams realise they have a scrap on their hands if they are to achieve a play-off spot, or avoid relegation.
Burge says: “We know at this stage of the season, teams in mid-table will look to push on and try to get in the play-off places and teams just above the relegation places will be looking down thinking they need to stay out of it.
“There is always something to play for until six or seven games left when some teams might have nothing to play for.
“Obviously we are going to have something to play for until the end of the season and we just need to focus on ourselves and maintain our form.
“The Morecambe game earlier this season was a game that I missed and so I didn’t get the chance to watch it, but I know they have got a few good players like a lot of teams in this league.
“What we need to do though is to concentrate on our own game. We don’t need to worry about other teams too much, we haven’t done all season so I don’t think we will start doing that now.”
