Boss ‘adamant’ Vale have more to offer

Micky Adams says his side are capable of giving anybody a game, regardless of whether they can add to the squad in the New Year.

Next up is a visit to Deepdale, where Preston North End are unlikely to adopt the same tactics that they employed at Vale Park a few weeks ago.

The Vale boss said: “They are a good side and they showed that a few weeks ago when they came here. They got their goal and had a man sent off and showed how resolute they were.

“I would expect them, as the home team, to come and attack us – that may suit us, it may not, but we’ll come up with a formula to try our best there.

“I know one thing for sure - we need to perform better than we did at MK Dons in our last away performance, where we were particularly poor.

“I am hoping that the two wins that we have got over this Christmas period will give us the confidence and the belief that we can go anywhere and give anybody a game and we can.

“It has been a big year for the club, we came out of administration, managed to get ourselves in a good position whilst in administration, come out of it, and got promoted.

“We are halfway through the season now and are seventh, two points off the play-offs and we have shown that we are more than capable of having a decent season.

“It is going to be a big second half for us – whether we can add to the squad or not will be debatable I would imagine, but you never write this squad off, we will give anybody a game.”
