"We will go there full of confidence"
Vale Assistant Manager Mark Grew feels Vale will gain confidence after recording their first victory of the season and is confident they can put on another good performance when they make the trip to Boundary Park this weekend.
He said: “We had Oldham watched against Peterborough on Saturday and they are a bit like us, they are coming back off a defeat and so they will want to put that right.
“But we are going to go there full of confidence and hopefully do what we did often on our travels last season and bring the three points back.
“We can’t wait to go forward. We have been waiting to get our first win under our belts and I am sure Saturday’s win against Bradford will breed lots of confidence in the lads.”
Oldham boast the youngest manager in the league in Lee Johnson but Micky Adams and Mark Grew will show their upmost respect to a manager who has already shown he is more than capable.
Grew said: “He did well last year, and he has a good footballling side. He looks like his father in that he wants to play football and what he (Gary Johnson)did last year to get them out of that league was phenomenal and I am sure Lee will want to do the same as his dad.
“We are going to go there full of confidence and we know we have got to get our away form up to what we did last year, and if we can do that and keep the home form, we will be a threat.”
