Gaffer decides on who will wear the armband

Port Vale manager Micky Adams has revealed that Doug Loft has been appointed team captain for the 2012-13 campaign.

The midfielder-cum-defender, who won last year’s Player of the Season award, will skipper the side for the new season.

“Doug has led by example and I believe he will be an excellent captain,” said Micky.

“He is highly-respected on the pitch and in the changing room and that can only be a positive.”
