Vale take on the Sky Blues behind closed doors
Vale today take on Coventry City behind closed doors in their penultimate home pre-season friendly before the season kicks in on Tuesday evening.
Due to concerns about the stadium, supporters will not be allowed into the stadium, but thanks to help from the Supporters Club fans will be able to watch Saturday’s match against Tranmere Rovers.
Micky will take the opportunity to test his side to the full against the Sky Blues as the football now begins to player a bigger part than the fitness, in terms of priorities.
The Vale gaffer will be looking not only at the team performance. He will now be keeping a keen eye on individual performances as he prepares to name his team for the beginning of the season.
He tells us he has still not settled on his final eleven for the opening clash in the Capital One Cup against Burnley, so today’s match could well see one or two names pencilled in.
We will have a match report on line just minutes after the final whistle this afternoon so you get to know what has been going on.
