Vale’s new defensive midfielder signed for the club from Stockport County in the recent summer window. Ryan had a very successful time at Stockport, helping the side gain two promotions in four years and making 178 appearances during this time. He was a main figure in the team that sent the club from the National League to League One. Ryan scored his first goal for Port Vale in the recent 3-2 defeat to Doncaster Rovers at Vale Park.
