At today’s game Port Vale Football Club will be awarded the Safeguarding Fundamentals Silver Quality Mark that demonstrates our club’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and empowering environment for all children and young people.
The quality mark reflects the club’s dedication to best safeguarding practices, ensuring every child who engages with the club feels valued, protected and supported.
Safeguarding Fundamentals (SGF) is about making safeguarding simpler, stronger and more effective in every setting where children and young people learn, play and grow.
From sports clubs to dance schools, arts programmes to education, SGF brings expertise, guidance, and a commitment to shared responsibility—ensuring that safeguarding is not just a policy, but a lived culture of safety and empowerment.
Receiving the quality mark not only shows a commitment to keeping children safe and free from abuse it also reassures parents and carers that we have done everything possible to keep their child or young person safe.

There will be a presentation ahead of kick off where our Head of Safeguarding, Gary Cliffe will be presented with the Silver Quality Mark.
