Vale announce community mural for 150th anniversary season

Vale Park

We are proud to announce plans for the creation of a supporter-led community mural at Vale Park, as part of our upcoming 150th anniversary celebrations!

The club have commissioned highly respected and experienced artist Helen Marshall of ‘The People’s Picture’, to construct the piece, with work ongoing to identify an appropriate and impactful location.

The artwork – which will feature the faces of four club legends, to be voted for by supporters – will be assembled from thousands of photos of supporters, players and staff as part of an iconic legacy initiative which will be visible at Vale Park for years to come.

Supporters and members of the wider community will soon have the opportunity to purchase a place within the mural, with the final piece to be installed ahead of the start of our 150th anniversary season in 2025/26.

A bespoke website is being created for mural submissions, also allowing supporters to upload their favourite Vale memories alongside their photos.

Port Vale Chief Executive, Matt Hancock, said: “While we’re naturally really keen and excited to highlight the club’s history throughout the anniversary season, we also want to make sure there are lasting pieces of work to commemorate such a special milestone.

“This mural will be a clear nod to our past, but will also include an incredible community of people, giving supporters the opportunity to include photos of both themselves and loved ones who have been such an important part of the Port Vale story over the years.”

We want to know which four Vale legends get your vote to feature as part of the artwork!
