Port Vale Football Club in partnership with The Port Vale Supporters Club proudly present an evening with Vale Legend, Tom Pope.
The evening, presented by BBC Radio Stoke’s Phil Bowers and The Ale and the Vale Podcast, will be a chance to hear from Tom about his life and career at Vale Park as well as being an opportunity for supporters to put their questions to the “Sneyd Green Sniper”.
Tom scored 115 goals in 343 league and cup appearances for the Valiants making him our post-war record goal scorer and along the way has played with and been managed by some of the club’s big characters.
Expect to hear never-heard-before stories from Tom’s time at the club as he looks back on a career that saw a local lad from a stone’s throw away from Vale Park, become Port Vale Captain and Club Legend.
Talking about the ‘Evening With’ Tom, our Chief Executive Officer, Matt Hancock said:
“I am delighted that we’re able to welcome Tom back to the club for this event and it will hopefully be the start of a new relationship off the pitch with one of the club’s most loved former players.
“I have already had some fantastic and positive conversations with Tom and the Supporters Club about how we see Tom’s involvement with us moving forward and I’m looking forward to working with him and the Supporters Club on many other events.”
Speaking to us about his ‘Evening With’, Tom added:
“I’ve been coming to Vale Park since I was four and I’ve been lucky to represent the club more than 300 times. Along the way I’ve had some of the best experiences of my career.
“I’m looking forward to the evening and talking about a part of my life that I look back on fondly and with pride and I’m also looking forward to answering some of the supporters’ questions too!”
