Match Report: Wolves U21s 4-0 Port Vale U18s

Wolves

Youthful Valiants beaten 4-0 by Wolves U21s at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground.

Wolves took the lead seven minutes into the first half when a low cross from the right was unfortunately parried by Davies onto Ben Lomax and into the Vale goal.

Minutes later, Vale had their real first chance of the game as Dipepa picked up the ball on the edge of the hosts’ box, but curled his effort just past the post.

Wanderers doubled their lead in the 16th minute as a scramble from a corner was side-footed past Davies and into the bottom corner from ten yards out.

Minutes later, the hosts scored their third with a long-range curling effort from 25-yards, leaving Davies with no chance.

The hosts took just five minutes of the second half to score their fourth of the afternoon after a ball through the middle of the pitch found the Wolves striker, who checked back onto his left foot and fired past Davies and into the bottom corner.

With 75 minutes on the clock, Hunter tried a speculative effort as he found space around 25-yards from goal, but his low effort was well held by the Wolves keeper.

Vale came forward five minutes later through Lake who twisted and turned on the edge of the Wolves area but curled his right-footed effort over the bar.
