The Valiants suffer a 3-0 defeat to a strong Bolton Wanderers side in their final pre-season outing at Vale Park.

Vale's first chance of the game came in the 17th minute with Ruari Paton firing just over the crossbar from the edge of the box following a neat bit of play from Ryan Croasdale.

Shortly after, Scott Arfield came within inches of doubling Bolton's lead, only to be denied by a top save from Connor Ripley who saved from point-blank range.

Bolton doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark, a short backpass was pounced upon by Wanderers striker Victor Adeboyejo who managed to squeeze the ball into the back of the net.

The Vale had a chance to get a goal back just before half time, Ronan Curtis' free-kick was met by Ben Heneghan whose header was comfortably saved by the Bolton keeper.
