Tonight, the club once again expresses its anger and disappointment in the strongest possible terms, having taken action to eject an individual from the stands during the Bristol Street Motors Trophy match against Wrexham AFC, this time for homophobic abuse.
After making our position as clear as possible just days ago - and later introducing a guide aimed at combatting this behaviour - we are also extremely frustrated to have to reiterate our zero-tolerance policy on abuse of any kind in these circumstances.
This is a stance which is understood, embraced and supported by almost everyone who visits Vale Park, but one which has now been ignored on two recent and separate occasions by mindless individuals.
Again, those found to have displayed abusive behaviour have no place at Port Vale and will - without exception - receive an indefinite ban from attending future matches. We are proud to be a welcoming, community club, where everyone should and can belong.
We would ask that anyone with information about any such incidents please contact us directly via security@port-vale.co.uk. Reports will remain confidential.
When inside Vale Park, supporters who hear abusive, racist or homophobic languages or witness unacceptable behaviour are asked to send a text to 07801216675, stating the stand where the incident takes place, a time, seat row and number if possible, as well as any other pertinent details.
