Club announces changes to Community and Foundation structure

PVF

We are delighted to confirm positive changes to our ongoing Community and Foundation operations, to help ensure the long-term success and growth of our outreach programmes.

As part of the changes, current Head of Community - Will Turner - will transition into the newly defined role of Community & CSR Director within the club's senior leadership team.

His expanded remit will include a direct influence on strategic decisions while maintaining accountability for the Foundation's growth and governance.

Meanwhile, Jack Day, current Sport & Physical Activity Manager, will also be transitioning into the role of Head of Community Football, which will focus on developing football-related community programmes and ensuring they are aligned with the broader vision of the club.

These changes highlight the importance we place on community as a cornerstone of the club's identity, both on and off the pitch.

Speaking about the developments, Port Vale Chief Executive, Matt Hancock, said:

“At Port Vale, our purpose has always been to achieve success on the pitch while making a real difference off it. What first drew me to the club was the alignment of Carol Shanahan’s community-focused values with my own, and her vision of a club that genuinely sits at the heart of its community. I think these changes to our Community and Foundation structure reinforce that commitment.

“Will Turner has done a fantastic job in driving the Foundation’s work forward, and this new structure - supported by Andy Taylor as Chair of the Trustees - will allow us to build on that work. Collectively, we're all looking forward to making a positive impact for our supporters and the local area.”

Will Turner added:

"I’m really proud to have been offered the role. This is a club I've supported all my life and one I’m proud to be part of. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.

“The role isn’t us saying we’ve achieved what we want to achieve, it’s about enabling us to go to the next level. We want to make sure we’re continuing to deliver high quality.”

To support the continued growth of the Foundation and its initiatives, we will also be introducing a new position, Head of Foundation, which will play a pivotal part in leading the Foundation team and developing innovative programmes that address the needs of our community.

Further details, including application information, will be announced on our channels in due course.
