Ben Amos is a Valiant
Port Vale FC are delighted to announce the signing of experienced goalkeeper, Ben Amos, subject to EFL and FA approval.
Amos, 34, joins Darren Moore’s Valiants on a two-year deal that will see him remain at Vale Park until the summer of 2026.
Since making his professional debut for Manchester United in 2008, Amos has gone on to rack up more than 300 professional appearances to his name across Premier League, Championship, League One levels amongst others.
Bringing a wealth of goalkeeping experience to Vale Park, Amos most recently spent three years at League One side, Wigan Athletic, making 83 appearances and keeping 26 clean sheets across all competitions for The Latics.
Port Vale FC Manager, Darren Moore, said:
“Ben is a fantastic all-round goalkeeper who possesses brilliant shot-stopping abilities, he takes real command of his area when coming for crosses and sweeping up, but is equally as comfortable with the ball at his feet and building from the back.
“We made the decision to bring in a goalkeeper that possesses the quality of Ben in order to enhance the competition for the number one spot.
“To have two goalkeepers with the abilities of both Ben and Connor is brilliant and will create healthy competition for their position, pushing them both every single day both on the training ground and on the pitch to maintain their starting place.
“We are all really looking forward to welcoming Ben to Vale Park and into our squad.”
