Tom Conlon Joins Oldham Athletic on a Permanent Transfer

Port Vale Football Club can confirm that midfielder Tom Conlon has joined Oldham Athletic on a permanent transfer.

The 27-year-old joined the Valiants in July 2018 and would go on to make 183 appearances across six seasons in the Black and White of Port Vale scoring on 20 occasions, assisting on 24.

Despite injury bringing an unfortunate early end to his 2021/22 season, Tom played a vocal role in the promotion-winning campaign and lifted the play-off trophy alongside then vice-captain Tom Pett at Wembley Stadium.

The club would like to sincerely thank Tom for his efforts whilst with the club and wish him the very best of luck with his future career.

Speaking of Tom Conlon's departure from the club, Port Vale FC's Director of Football, David Flitcroft, said:

"On behalf of everyone at Port Vale FC, I would like to thank Tom for his years of service for the club. Tom played a pivotal role in securing the club's League Two safety in the 2020/21 season before playing an important role both on and off the pitch throughout our promotion season.

"We wish Tom nothing but the absolute best. He and his family will always be welcome back at Vale Park in the future."
