Port Vale Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of 31-year-old Jason Lowe.
The versatile defensive-minded player becomes our eighth signing of the summer and joins us from Salford City where he recently hit his 400th career appearance in February.
Lowe had 125 appearances for the Ammies, which included a 2020 EFL Trophy Final victory in the 2020/21 season where he played a pivotal role in scoring the final penalty to secure silverware for the club.
This past season, Jason racked up 26 appearances in League Two, mostly playing in the defensive right back position.
Upon Jason Lowe’s arrival, manager Andy Crosby said:
“We are delighted to have signed Jason Lowe. Jason brings a wealth of experience and versatility to our team, and we are absolutely thrilled to have him join us.
“His track record speaks for itself, his maturity and understanding of the game after 400 career appearances is exactly what we need heading into a new season.
“With almost 200 appearances at championship level and a full season of experience at Premier League level, Jason is accustomed to playing against a higher calibre player and brings a lot of experience in this area alone and is another leader in our dressing room.”
Director of Football, David Flitcroft said:
“Jason has a familiarity with the demands of a higher-level competition, which will undoubtedly benefit our players and enhance the overall performance on the pitch.
“Jason also brings invaluable leadership qualities that will positively influence our squad dynamics.
“I witnessed and experienced this first-hand when I was a coach at Bolton. He is one of the best professionals I have had the pleasure of coaching - his experience and knowledge of the game will add significant value to our squad.
“We are excited to see the impact he will have on the squad and believe he will be a big asset in us driving the club forward."
