- Harry Charsley will join Newport County after leaving Vale Park by Mutual Consent
- The 26-year-old made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Valiants
- Midfielder's final appearance came against Barnsley in the Papa Johns Trophy
Since joining from Mansfield Town in January 2022, the midfielder made 33 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net once.
Charsley featured against his former club at Wembley as a substitute and had a goal disallowed when he was judged to have been offside.
The 26-year-old has made ten appearances this season, the last of which coming in the Papa Johns Trophy against Barnsley in November.
Talking about Harry's departure, Director of Football David Flitcroft said: "At this stage of the season we’re looking to review the numbers, sustainability and efficiency levels of the playing staff – Harry's ability in training has been high, but due to the competition in front of him the minutes on the pitch haven’t been available.
"All players will get frustrated when not being involved on match day, but no one more than Harry, he trains to his maximum ability every day and he is an outstanding professional.
"When you train to the levels he does, you want that match day feeling at the end of the week, but when you’re not getting that and you have so much to offer, you can become disillusioned.
"He played a big part in the promotion winning season, but unfortunately this season has found his way out of the team.
"Newport really wanted him, and it's a great opportunity for him to go be a top player for them.
"I'd like to wish him well with his new challenge and thank him for the incredible professionalism he has shown at the club"
The club would like to thank Harry for his time spent with us at Vale Park and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
