Port Vale will join English football in promoting the FA’s Play Safe campaign this weekend, placing attention and focus on the importance of safeguarding within the game.

The Play Safe campaign is endorsed by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and will be supported across every level of English football, including the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship, and across the grassroots game.

This year’s campaign will highlight the role of parents and carers in safeguarding and the vital role they play in creating a safe, welcoming and friendly environment within the game.

The FA are encouraging parents and carers to complete a new and free online safeguarding course specifically developed for them, which can be accessed by [clicking here].

Staffordshire FA will be in the Staffordshire University Fan Zone at Vale Park this weekend, along with FA referees, to provide further information to supporters wishing to learn more about they can play in promoting safeguarding within the game.

Our captain for Saturday’s fixture will wear a dedicated Play Safe captain’s armband while Darrell Clarke will also wear a Play Safe pin badge to promote the campaign.
