Dennis Politic says Port Vale “feels like home” after completing a Deadline Day return to Burslem last week.
Politic arrived at Vale Park this week after travelling from Italy to link-up with the Vale again and spoke to iFollow The Vale on Tuesday about his return ‘home’ this week.
“I am delighted; super happy to be back and really excited for what’s ahead, I can’t wait to get going,” Politic said.
“My pre-season was good; I had no injuries and I am pretty fit and ready to go.”
On his reasons for returning to Vale, Politic continued:
“This club is really close to my heart; my previous experience here was just for six months but it felt like home.
“I really enjoyed my time here and the people here have been so good to me and so welcoming, and that is one of the big reasons why I have come here, to play and help the team.
“My previous spell was really good; I am really happy that I could help in the promotion and the boys did unbelievably well. A big mention to the gaffer as well because he kept me a medal back and gave it to me this morning, so I am very pleased.
“I think from the top, all the way down, this is a special club and I think it’s run very well, the people are unbelievable – great characters in this club.”
Politic’s brief loan spell in the 2021/22 campaign returned five goals and four assists, equating to a goal or assist every 91 minutes for the Vale.
“As soon as I found out that I was coming back here, I have relived [my goals] again and visualising and imagining that I can produce again every time I step onto the pitch and make the fans happy,” he explained.
“I think the late goals and dramatic wins stand out! Burton comes to mind; I enjoyed some special moments and hopefully there are more to come.”
