Jamie Proctor joins the Valiants

Port Vale Football Club is delighted to confirm that striker Jamie Proctor has joined the club on an initial one-year contract.

The 29-year-old has 337 professional appearances under his belt and 52 goals to his name. 
 
Most recently the target man featured for League One side Wigan Athletic on loan from his parent club, Rotherham United. 
 
Proctor started his youth career at Preston North End before becoming professional at his boyhood club in 2010, he would go on to make 40 appearances in all competitions for The Lilywhites scoring four goals. 
 
Spells at Stockport County (Loan) and Shrewsbury Town (Loan) would follow before moving permanently to Crawley Town which would see him spend two seasons there scoring 14 goals in 67 appearances. 
 
From Crawley, Jamie moved to Fleetwood Town where he would find the net 12 times in 72 apperances for The Cod Army
 
Following a season long loan in 2015 at Bradford City, Jamie moved to Bolton Wanderers making 19 apperances in all competitions. 
 
Rotherham United acquired the services of Jamie in their promotion winning season of 2017/2018 and he would go on to make 16 apperances in the Championship. 
 
Speaking about the signing of, Vale manager Darrell Clarke said: "Jamie ticks the boxes for the attributes of the type of player that I want in the squad.
 
“He’s going to give us different options for our frontline and he has good knowledge of the league we are in - as well as valuable experience in the leagues above too."
