Port Vale FC is joining a host of EFL and non-league clubs across the country in supporting the #NoHomeKit campaign organised by homeless charity Shelter.
For the Boxing Day game at home to Salford, Vale players will wear the club’s gold away kit to help raise awareness of homelessness over the festive period.
In addition, five per cent of all sales of our away shirts on Boxing Day will be donated to Shelter.
Supporters are also requested, where possible, to wear the gold away kit for the home match on December 26.
Port Vale is supporting the #NoHomeKit initiative because across the UK thousands of people and families are facing the prospect of not having a home this Christmas.
Club co-owner and Chair Carol Shanahan OBE said: “We are very pleased to be joining clubs across the EFL to support this important campaign.
“Christmas should be a joyous time but we can’t forget that many people – often due to circumstances beyond their control – are facing a challenging period.
“In addition to our community work with more than 150 families and isolated individuals we want to help raise awareness and much-needed funds Shelter.
“We know our wonderful fans will be only too happy to get involved with the #NoHomeKit initiative and I’d like to thank them for their unwavering support.”
