PVFC Ladies turning Miles into Meals

The Ladies first team are taking on a challenge to raise funds for the Port Vale Foundation's community efforts.

Despite their season being put on hold due to the latest government guidelines and Covid restrictions, the Port Vale Ladies first team are wanting to use their downtime to make a difference to the local community.

The Miles for Meals challenge which was created by Captain Meg Baldwin and Vice-Captain Mollie Garner will see the team collectively cover 1000km between 18th November and 18th December.

Money that is raised by the challenge will be donated to the Port Vale Foundation to help feed families in Stoke-on-Trent over the Christmas period.

The Port Vale Foundation alongside Port Vale FC, Synectics Solutions, Hubb Foundation and Summit Hospitality under the 'Port Vale Community Hub' have already donated over an incredible 170,000 meals and have continued their support over the second lockdown.

On the challenge Baldwin said "We wanted to do something that helps the team to keep fit but also gives them something to work towards, giving ourselves a collective goal means we get to keep the team spirit high and focus on achieving the goal together rather than individually

We knew straight away that once the challenge was in place that any money that was raised would go back into the club we play for, especially with the amazing work that has gone on so far, we want to do our bit to support that"
