Port Vale Football Club are proud to announce that John Askey will remain at Vale Park as the club's First Team Manager after signing a three-year deal.
The club can also confirm that Dave Kevan has signed a new deal which sees him remain as the Assistant Manager.
Askey arrived at the club in February on a short term deal with the aim to steer Port Vale clear of a worrying relegation battle.
Despite losing his first four games in charge of the Vale, Askey guided the Valiants to safety with three games spare, having picked up 16 points in 16 games with wins coming against the likes of Mansfield Town, Yeovil Town and Crewe Alexandra.
Port Vale's Chief Executive, Colin Garlick, is pleased that Askey's future at the club has now been confirmed.
"There was only one place we wanted to go. There's been a lot going on at the club and securing the future of Port Vale was the top priority. Equally, the appointment of the manager is the most important decision you'll have to make at a football club.
"John has worked hard since he came in in February and deserves this opportunity to continue the good work that he's done in the short term.
"Hopefully he can take that on as we look forward to the new season in this new era at Port Vale."
