Young Vale supporters and children in the wider community will benefit from the Port Vale Foundation's participation in the Premier League Primary Stars education programme on World Book Day, with thousands of books available in exchange for a voucher.
This engagement, delivered by the Premier League and the National Literacy Trust, will see WHSmith provide 10,000 books as well as staff to run shops on match days, encouraging football fans of all ages to take up the £1 book offer.
During the Valiants' Sky Bet League Two fixture at home to Mansfield Town, there will be a pop-up shop here at Vale Park situated in the family zone where a wide selection of books will be on offer to supporters for an amazing price.
Vouchers will also be given out at 20 schools across the City, all of which have a partnership with the Port Vale Foundation. Since September, 1,425 children have been reached and there have been 1,404 sessions, with 1,333 hours of delivery from staff.
Boomer will visit local schools on Thursday 7th March, and he will be handing out those vouchers, so keep an eye out for him. Also, don't forget to come to the family zone this weekend if you want to take advantage of this great scheme!
