On Saturday, the club were proud to debut our brand new diversity boards along the Lorne Street Stand promoting the messages "Football has no gender".
The two boards were designed by Steve Burdekin, member of the Port Vale fan group "North London Valiants".
Port Vale have been working alongside "Kick It Out", "Fans For Diversity" and Malcom Hirst, Vice Chairman of the Port Vale Supporters Club in order to get the boards up and Malcom says it's excellent to see them at Vale Park.
"It's been great for the Supporters Club to work with the club to get the diversity boards up at Vale Park. We all felt it was important to get the message out there, that misogynistic comments made at Crewe earlier in the season are not tolerated by Port Vale."
Working with the Malcom and the other groups has been Port Vale's Chief Executive, Colin Garlick, who's message reflects the attitude of everyone associated with the club.
"We as a club want everyone from the widest of communities to be able to come along to Vale Park and other football matches and be able to enjoy themselves and feel safe at a game of football."
As a club we will ensure that everyone is treated fairly, with respect and that it will provide access and opportunities for all members of the community to take part in, and enjoy, its activities.
The club are fully committed to promote inclusion and to confronting and eliminating discrimination whether by reason of age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status or civil partnership race, nationality, ethnicity(race), religion or belief, ability or disability, pregnancy and maternity and to encourage equal opportunities.
