Port Vale are pleased to announce that defender Callum Evans has signed for the club on a one year deal.
The 23 year old right back started off his football career at giants Manchester United as a 14 year old and progressed well through the youth system.
After five years at the Red Devils, Evans signed for Barnsley where he would spend the next two years of his career.
The defender has since gone onto play for the likes of Torquay United, Forest Green Rovers and has had two spells at Macclesfield Town.
Evans joined the Silkmen in January 2018 on loan under John Askey, making 14 appearances for the club and winning promotion to League Two.
The right back position was an area Askey wanted to reinforce more and the gaffer is pleased to have been able to secue Evans at the club.
"I've had Callum before, he's got a decent pedigree. He's from Bristol but he was at Manchester United as a youngster. He played for me when we got promoted and he's only 23 so there's more to come from him.
"He's a very quick player and a good passer of the ball. He can cover a couple of positions, he can play right back which is his favoured position, centre midfield and also left back so he's a good squad player to have.
"We're looking for competition in every position, as we've said whoever does well will get a shirt so it's up to Callum now he's come in to fight for a shirt."
Callum Evans is avaliable for selection today against Burnley.
