Port Vale are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Alex Hurst from Bradford Park Avenue on a two year-deal.
After signing, Hurst will now return back to Bradford PA on loan until January 2020 before rejoining back up with his Vale teammates for the rest of the campaign.
The midfielder joined Bradford PA from Northern Premier League Premier Division side Matlock Town in October 2018 after impressing as a trialist.
The 19 year old has spent the past month with the club training with the first team and featuring in some of the pre-season friendlies. His form both in training and in the friendlies have impressed manager John Askey.
Making Hurst his 11th signing of the summer, the gaffer is looking forward to seeing Hurst grow as a player at the club.
"Alex has impressed us since he's come into training and he's only young and he's one that could develop and end up being a very good player for us.
"He's got a great attitude and a lot of ability so I think it's worth bringing him in. You need players like that who have got potential. He's quick and got good control, for such a small lad he's quite strong as well.
"He's somebody who when he gets on the ball he excites you and can make things happens."
