Port Vale will be looking to get back to winning ways having now lost two league games on the spin. Mansfield Town overcame Neil Aspin’s side 1-0 at Field Mill, before Swindon Town beat The Valiants at Vale Park by the same score-line.
Aspin has been dealt a blow as Mitchell Clark is set to be side-lined for roughly three weeks, having been replaced by Theo Vassell at half-time in the defeat to Swindon Town. It has been confirmed that the Aston Villa loanee has suffered a hamstring injury.
On the positive side, Manny Oyeleke is set to return having played out his one-match ban following his dismissal in the loss to Mansfield Town - Ricky Miller however, is set to miss out.
Both Aspin and assistant manager Lee Nogan have claimed that the journey is not going to be an issue and that they are expecting a response from the defeat to Swindon.
Yeovil Town
Form: LDLDDWLWLL
League Position: 18th
Top Scorer: Alex Fisher (7 goals)
Yeovil Town sit just one place behind Vale with just one less point than the Burslem outfit. The Glovers have played out five wins, six draws and six losses since the start of the season.
Darren Way’s side will have fond memories of playing Port Vale following their cup win over them last season. Scoring a last-minute equaliser at Vale Park to force a replay, The Glovers went onto progress to the third round of the FA Cup, beating The Valiants 3-2 at Huish Park.
It has been confirmed that Darren Way will be without the services of Alex Fisher and Olufela Olomola as the pair are set to be side-lined for a few weeks having picked up respective injuries. The duo both missed the defeat to Macclesfield Town having been injured against Stockport in the FA Cup. James Bailey and Jordan Green are also expected to miss out.
One to watch: Yoann Arquin
Six-foot-two striker that wears the number 18 for Yeovil Town. The forward’s career began in France where he would represent Nancy B, Nantes B, Quimper, Red Star 93 and Paris Saint Germain B, before coming to England with Hereford United.
Arquin went onto represent a number of clubs across the UK, including the likes of Notts County, Mansfield Town and St Mirren. On 2nd August 2018, the forward signed for The Glovers following a successful trial.
His playing style has been likened to that of Nicolas Anelka and he has contributed three goals and three assists so far this season.
Talk
Lee Nogan: "We want to win every game, and it's as simple as that. The mentality has to be right from the players because it is from the staff. You've got to be consistent with your performances and then hopefully you'll pick up the wins, but there is no point at looking three or four games ahead, we have to get something from Yeovil first."
Darren Way: “We need to get our performance levels back to where they were at the start of the season. The team has been a bit unbalanced with the injuries we’ve had and the changes we’ve had to make, but I’m not making excuses. We have to take responsibility for where we are, and I’ll be the first one to say that and I know we need to improve.
