Dior Angus and Mike Calveley both featured for Nuneaton Borough on Saturday afternoon as they recorded a 1-1 draw at home to Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North. Calveley only featured for half of the game whilst Angus completed the full 90 minutes, but he was unable to find the net.
Rob Lainton continued fine form in a Wrexham shirt as the Welsh side progressed into the Emirates FA Cup Second Round, beating Weston-super-Mare away from home. The clean sheet is the 29-year-old goalkeeper's 12th clean sheet from just 20 games in all competitions.
Cheltenham Town were forced to settle for a replay in the same competition as they could only draw 0-0 with Ebsfleet United on Saturday afternoon, with Tyrone Barnett forced to come on as a 22nd-minute substitute when Johnny Mullins suffered an injury. The experienced striker was then handed a starting berth for Tuesday night's Checkatrade Trophy triumph over Coventry City, and he played the full game.
Joe Davis made his debut for York City on Saturday afternoon after signing a short term loan deal at the National League North outfit, falling to defeat against Swindon Town in the Emirates FA Cup. The defender also played on Tuesday night and he made an impact as his side keept a clean sheet in a goalless draw with Chester in the league.
Elsewhere, Harry Benns was introduced as a second-half substitute during Stafford Rangers' FA Trophy defeat to Basford United, but he was unable to prevent his side from slipping to a 4-0 defeat. The youngster has impressed during his time at Marston Road, but he will be hoping for a better result next time out.
